I got the Jay-Z album too and although the verbal wordplay is still top notch--I'm not really feeling it--I guess I'm a lil wound up--you came out of retirement to give us mediocre?

Oh had fun Saturday--check yall out Friday

I gave the album a B. I wouldn't call it bad but i wouldn't consider it to be one of his best. It's a maturation process, that he shows which will lose a lot of his loyal younger listeners b/c it's not in your face hard core. Plus the beats arent your typical Hova beats.
So for people that love beats this album isn't for you but if you love word play then i think you will like it...especially on the dis track to came...."Hey why don't you get at oh boy, but why Kill a puppet and leave Chipeto alive..."

My "supplier" hooked me up with it yesterday, but I haven't gotten a chance to listen to it yet. I'll come back after I listen to it.

30 Something is the shiiiiiiiiiit!!!! I tried to pick out one particular verse to quote, but then I'd end up quoting the entire song cuz everything he said on that joint is the truth!!!

the album is hot, if you don't catch it the first time, listen to it again and mellow out on it...it's a good album, not classic and not great but a good album

A lot of people aren't feelign it, but the thing is he's trying something new.

Dre is the primary producer on this CD and while it has some low points the CD has some high points musically (kanye's joint is just mean) and lyrically (minority report) is that ish.

We'll see -- I think people criticize stuff when they're expecting something different.

We all wish he would just remake "the Blueprint" but I guess they just moving in a different direction.

Als this marks the first time since reasonable doubt that Jay-Z does NOT have a timbaland beat on his album. I think that's a mistake.

In my opinion, anything Jay touches is the bomb! I only heard a few songs off of there and I thought it was tight.

Lyrically, Jay is still one of the greatest living, but musically, this one is going to take some time to grow on me. Then again, if Beyonce's CD can grow on me, this one can too.

See I think the other away around Organized.

Lyrically outside of Lost Ones and Minority Report he just talks about how tight he is.

Musically though he is laced with some innovative (and different) beats.

Reportedly the leaked album is a fake (well the one I have anyway) because where are the T.I. and Eminem collabo's?

New to your blog. I love the new Jay album. It's definitely going to go over the head of the average young listener. But, he's a grown man, and most of us that have matured with hip hip, I love the grown up feel.
